Carol graduated with a B.A. from CU in 1974 and continued her SLP studies receiving an M.A. from Adams State College in 1976. Now retired, she was co-founder, along with her daughter, Milena Pastore, of an innovative program titled Bridges of Health Inc.'s Challenge Colorado Therapeutic Riding Program. In the program, Carol combined SLP therapy techniques and Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) with a specific focus on 3-5 yr olds. Carol reported that using EAT demonstrated positive results, especially with children who have Autism. The unique relationship the children formed with the horse also increased confidence, patience and self-esteem.
