Gail Ramsberger, MA / CDSS, PhD / B.U.
Dr. Ramsberger retired in 2022 after 35 years on the SLHS faculty. Her research focused on understanding how linguistic, cognitive, social, environmental and emotional factors contribute to communicative success in persons with brain damage and then using this knowledge to develop new rehabilitation methods for persons with acquired neurologically-based language and cognitive disorders. She held board certification in adult disorders from the Academy of Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS), and maintains the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). The National Institutes of Health, James S. McDonnell Foundation and the National Science Foundation have funded her research. She received the B.A. in Communication Disorders and Psychology and the M.A. in Communication Disorders from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the Doctorate of Science from Boston University.
Dr. Ramsberger now lives in Eldora, Colorado with her husband and very big Bernedoodle puppy. She volunteers teaching English and exchanging culture with new comers to the USA through Intercambio, assisting in the classroom at Nederland Middle/Senior High School, skiing, painting, and making wonderful memories with her husband, adult children and grandchildren.
